Abundant wildlife can be viewed on the safari to Murchison falls including, over 100 species of mammals and over 450 species of birds.
Queen Elizabeth National park is also the home of the legendary tree climbing lions of Ishasha. The resident lions have taken to a curious habit, climbing into giant fig trees and acacia trees.
You will be met on arrival by your driver guide who will warmly receive and welcome you. Transfer to your hotel in Entebbe.
After breakfast we start the day with a city tour through the bustling capital of Uganda. Immerse yourself in the traditions of the Kings of the Buganda tribe at the Kasubi Tombs, visit the Namirembe Cathedral and explore the African Craft Village for the most authentic crafts and arts. You will enjoy a local cuisine and visit the museum where you will learn the history of Uganda.
You will be picked from your hotel and transferred to Jinja for a full day of adventure as you raft the white waters of the Nile starting at the Source of the Nile. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and thundering rapids of the White Nile and do not forget to watch the incredible birdlife as you drift quietly between the rapids of this mighty river. If you prefer a more peaceful experience can also decide to go for a wonderful river journey instead of choosing the wildest rapids, we drift swiftly between beautiful forested islands, bounce down smaller rapids and explore the least known channels.
Your driver guide will pick you up early from your accommodation in Kampala and head north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for white rhino tracking. Founded in 1998, Rhino Fund Uganda works to reintroduce black and white rhinos into Uganda. They run a breeding program, as well as working to educate communities on these endangered giants, the problem of poaching and the need for environmental conservation. In the Rhino Sanctuary you will have a safari-hike to the rhinos which will give you the opportunity to view them at close range. After having lunch, continue to Uganda's largest national park, Visit the top of the falls and later relax in the afternoon.
After an early morning breakfast, you will set out for an early morning game drive while the animals are the most active. In the early morning hours animals are the most active, the sun is not yet so bright and temperatures are cooler. A drive through the park up close with the African animal kingdom: You are likely to spot elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, different species of antelope and a variety of tropical birds. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat safari to the bottom of Murchison Falls. You are likely to see Nile crocodiles, hundreds of hippos, buffaloes, water birds and a variety of animals that come to the drink water at the banks of the river Nile.
After an early breakfast we depart to Kibale Forest National Park, It’s a beautiful ride on the countryside as you pass through rolling hills and plantations. You will have lunch en route as you approach Fort Portal town which rests in the shadow of the mountains of the moon.
Today you will spend the morning tracking the exuberant chimp families in the Kibale forest. Tracking chimpanzees in their natural habitat, as they swing from the branches in the canopy high above the forest floor, is a thrilling experience. Though they can be difficult to spot, you will be in no doubt of their presence as the forest is alive with their noisy calls. In the afternoon, explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. The reserve is abundant with butterflies, plants, animals and, in particular, birds. Spectacular birds like Great Blue Turaco and rare Papyrus Gonolek will be of great interest to birders. The swamp is also home to more elusive animals such as Red Colobus monkeys and Sitatunga antelope.
After an early breakfast, you will depart for the birders have park Semuliki as it is known for its famous female and male hot springs. The drive will take you down the eastern side of the Lake Albert. Situated in the basin of the western rift valley, Semuliki is one of the many parks of Uganda which is truly a birders haven with other wildlife which are known as nocturnal dwellers that include the white tailed mongoose and slender mongoose, standard and pennant winged nightjars, serval cats, and hyenas. It is the only place where a night game drive is possible. You will arrive and go for a visit to the springs after retire to your accommodation.
Today you will wake up early to a cup of coffee and you will proceed to the rain forest for a nature walk you will be lucky to spot the rare bushbuck, duiker, buffaloes and then from where you will come back to the lodge for the full breakfast and go for a boat ride in the afternoon in search of the rare shoe bill among other birds.
After your breakfast you will drive to the second biggest national park through the mystical ranges of the Rwenzori Mountain. You will have a game view as you drive through the park. You will arrive in Queen Elizabeth in time for lunch and check in in your accommodation. You will then go for an afternoon boat cruise on the famous Kazinga channel with the highest concentration of the hippos in the region, and a variety of water birds at a close range. Have a game drive back to the lodge in the evening.
After an early morning cup of tea, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park 135km about 2 – 3 hours’ drive to catch up with a game drive along Kasenyi track and Queen’s Mile in the park. In sight you have possibilities of encountering gigantic elephants, lions, buffalos, warthogs and antelopes. Return to the lodge for lunch, after which you enjoy another game drive along the channel track in search of more game as you see the sun go down before you head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you will head to the Southern part of the park, the Ishasha sector famous for its tree climbing lions. You will have a game drive as you look out for the kings of the jungle resting in the trees. You are likely to see other animals like the elephants, Buffaloes, antelopes and a variety of bird species.
After enjoying an early breakfast, you set off gorilla tracking. Trekking through the steep, densely forested hills and then finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is an inspiring and privileged moment. Tracking in the Bwindi forest requires stamina and can often take most of the day. After an hours encounter with these gentle giants, you will graduate and join the rest of the tourists who describe this as the greatest highlight of an adventure in Uganda. Guests are always given a certificate of encountering the Gentle Giants as a climax of a memorable experience.
You will transfer to Lake Mburo National park. It’s the only national park in Uganda where you can have a safari on foot. There has been an addition of tallest savanna animal (the giraffe) added to its endemic impalas. You will have a game drive as you enter the park.
Day 15: Game drives and a Boat trip<br /> You will an early morning game drive after having a delicious breakfast at your lodge with chances of seeing the beautiful colors of a rainbow spectrum from the beautiful sun rises and many more surprises of nature like song birds. Embark on a spectacular game drive having a view of numerous animals.<br /> After a hearty lunch, you will have a boat ride on Lake Mburo for at least 2 hours on the waters. View the water birds such as the Papyrus Gonoleks, Brown-faced lapwings, Carruther’s, cisticolas, the extraordinary White winged Warbler and Bare-faced Go-away bird. You will later relax and unwind at your lodge.
You will walk up early and have a guided safari walk with a ranger, return to the lodge for breakfast before you return to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight back home.
